Our School Day
Drop off and pick up
Dear Parents and carers.
We will see your children at school on Wednesday 1st September between 8.45 and 8.55am (unless you have booked Breakfast Club). By giving you 10 minutes to get your child into class thus should hopefully help the social distancing at drop off that is required for the safety of everyone.
We politely request that if you are entering our grounds that you do so by the side grey gate and follow the one-way system. Staff will be there on the first couple of days to guide you and we will have lots of signs to point you in the right direction.
Infants will be dropped off at their classroom sliding doors. Juniors will make their own way to class from the side gate.
The majority of Years 5 and 6 will bring themselves onto the premises and enter their classrooms via Year 6 and the upper junior cloakroom door. We would kindly ask that if you are dropping off older children that you do so at the main green gates by the top car park. They can then walk down the side path with the rest of the children. If you want to drop them at their classroom then you will need to walk them down the path to the side gate and then follow the one way system to exit.
Pick up for Infants will be at their sliding classroom door (just like drop off). For Year 3 we ask that you wait on the new path (behind the Leyland truck) and the children will leave via their classroom door. For Year 4 a staff member will bring the children to the zebra crossing where you can wait on the lower drive (inside the grey double gates). For years 5 and 6 we ask that you wait outside the main green gates as the children will walk up to meet you. They will return into the main entrance door if you are not there at pick up time.
If you are dropping off/picking up different aged children, please drop off and collect the youngest one first.
If your child is late, they will need to enter school via the main entrance.
The children are not expected to social distance from each other but we (as adults) are expected to. Our aim is to keep staff and parents/carers 2 meters apart as much as possible to reduce the risk of infection. Please use the yellow and black lines (wherever you see them) to keep socially distanced).
If you need to speak with a member of staff can I please ask you to ring the office if it is urgent, email the office if a response/action is needed that day or use the class email address if it's about work/homework etc.
Breakfast and After School Club is open and needs to be booked and paid for in advance in the usual way.
If you, your child, or anyone in your household has any Covid symptoms then you need to let school know immediately, and you shouldn't come to school. Self-isolating and testing will need to be carried out. If you are called by the track and trace team, you all will need to self-isolate.
If positive cases are found to be connected to school, then the whole class could be sent home. It is of absolute paramount importance that we have an up to date mobile phone number and that we are able to contact you at any point during the school day. Please let us know if your number has changed within the last 6 months.
It's a lot to take in and remember. Staff will be around to help you in September so if you have any worries or concerns please get in touch.
