This page is intended to provide you with some basic information to help you choose the right school for your child and also about the Pupil Admission process.

Basic Information

Broad Oak aims to give your child an excellent start, or for some children a re-start, to their education.  We pride ourselves in the quality of our provision and believe that, with parental support, we add considerable value both to the academic and non-academic part of learning.

Most of the information about the school you will find by either browsing this website or in our school prospectus (under Prospectus sub-heading in the Parents section.)

If you are considering sending your child to Broad Oak I would encourage you to come along to one of our Open Days or contact the school office by email or telephone 01772 749511 and make a visit to the school.  You will have an opportunity to meet with the Headteacher and also meet your child’s prospective teacher.

Admission Process – Already of School Age (4-11)

The admission process for children already of school age, is conducted by the school in conjunction with the admissions team at Lancashire County Council.

We have produced a prospectus, available on this website and from the school office, that explains about our school. There is one common school application form for all year groups and all parents must fill in the common school admission form and return it to the school.  If there is a place for your child you will be advised immediately.

We strongly advise, where possible, that parents visit the school to ensure that it is the best setting for their child.

Please note that the school operates a policy with local schools that in the event of there being an unresolved issue with another school that this is resolved where possible.

Please note that our maximum number of children per class is 30.

We follow Lancashire County Council guidelines for Primary School Admissions.
