Online Safety

The internet provides a huge amount of information for children and adults alike. It is a fascinating and effective tool for both teaching and learning, both at home and within school and it is paramount that all users from children to adults are educated on how to use the internet safely.

Online safety is often associated solely with internet sites; however Online Safety covers all electronic safety such as identifying appropriate and inappropriate e-mails, text messages and much more.

At Broad Oak we take all steps to ensure that internet and e-mail access is appropriate and safe. This is facilitated by the school taking their internet access through Lancashire Education Digital Services, which provides secure, filtered internet access for schools.

At Broad Oak Primary School, we begin to educate our children on online safety from an early age and this continues throughout their time school. We have a dedicated Online Safety Policy and online safety is incorporated into all areas of the curriculum where required.

We would ask that you make sure you know what your child/ children are doing online at all times. It is important to remember that if you allow your child internet access at home, parental supervision is recommended at all times.

If you have any concerns or queries about Online Safety please contact:
