Drop off and pick up

We greet your children at school between 8.40 and 8.50am (unless you have booked Breakfast Club). By giving you 10 minutes to get your child into class this should hopefully help drop off that is required for the safety of everyone.

We politely request that if you are entering our grounds that you do so by the side grey gate and follow the one-way system. 

Infants will be dropped off at their classroom sliding doors. A member of staff is always there to greet them.

The juniors walk along the Year 3 path, down through the junior gate (where a member of staff greets them) and into the cloakroom.

Pick up for Infants will be at their sliding classroom door (just like drop off). For Year 3 we ask that you wait on the new path (behind the Leyland truck) and the children will leave via their classroom door. For Year 4 a staff member will bring the children to the zebra crossing where you can wait on the lower drive (inside the grey double gates). For years 5 and 6 we ask that you wait outside the main green gates as the children will walk up to meet you. They will return into the main entrance door if you are not there at pick up time.

The school day ends at 3.20pm. 

If driving for drop off and pick up, can we politely request that you park away from school, making sure you are not blocking residents drive and walk the children into school. 

If you are dropping off/picking up different aged children, please drop off and collect the youngest one first.

If your child is late, they will need to enter school via the main entrance. The side gates are closed promptly at 8:50. 

If you need to speak with a member of staff can I please ask you to ring the office if it is urgent, email the office if a response/action is needed that day or use the class email address if it's about work/homework etc.

Breakfast and After School Club needs to be booked and paid for in advance in the usual way.

If your child becomes unwell during the school day we may contact you to collect them. It is of absolute paramount importance that we have an up to date mobile phone number and that we are able to contact you at any point during the school day. Please let us know if your number has changed within the last 6 months.

Our School Day

School Sessions

School sessions are:

Morning:       8.40 to 12.00 (Infants)

                       8.40 to 12.10 (Juniors)

Afternoon:    13.00 to 15.20 (whole school)

Children should not arrive before 08.40, unless booked in with Broad Oak Care Club.

Teaching hours per week:

Infants: 21 hours   

Juniors: 23.5 hours.

These hours exclude breaks, registration and assemblies.
