Year 6 Award Winners
Congratulations to all our Year 6 annual award winners. This year there was a special trophy awarded by Mrs Oliver to commemorate her retirement and her many, many residential visits to Hothersall Lodge over the past 28 years. The first ever "Hothersall Heroes" award 2014 went to Gemma.
Megan won the Creative Writing Award, Louis, the Music Award, Tyler L and Alex R won the Student Of The Year, Kiera won the Art Prize with her sister Caitlyn winning the award for Excellence Throughout The Year. Bethan and Alex S won the Sports Awards, Harry won the Handwriting Prize, Nathaneal won the Award for Excellence in Maths and the Dinnertime Trophies were awarded to Tyler P and Nicole.
Finally we have a special award at the end of the year for the Reception child who settles the best  in to life at Broad Oak and this year's winner was Charlie.
Congratulations to all our winners.

Goodbye Mrs Oliver.
After 28 years as a Nursery Nurse at Broad Oak, Mrs Oliver is retiring this week. We held a special assembly on Monday with the children singing our very own version of the Michael Bouble song "I Just Havent Met You Yet" with the words cleverly scripted by  Mrs Bush to read "Mrs Oliver You're The Best!"
This was followed by our equivalent of the Oscars - the Olivers and we were joined for the evening by staff and governors, past and present and by Mrs Oliver's family. Mrs Oliver won all the awards that evening, including the Golden Palette Award for services rendered to the washing of paint pots and paint brushes left lying around by "other" staff and the "Golden Banana" for her work as the school's fruit co-ordinator!

She will be greatly missed by all the staff, governors, parents and children here and we would like to wish her a very happy retirement. We are pleased to say that Mrs Oliver is not cutting her ties with us entirely though and has promised to help Mrs Yale in Year 1 in September. A huge thank you for all you have done for us over that past 28 years - Mrs Oliver - You're the Best!
