Welcome to Year 6
Hi everyone,
Welcome back to Spring 2 - can you believe we are already over half way through the year? Time is flying in Year 6!
This half-term will be another busy one with a great topic focusing on History (Anglo Saxons and the Vikings) and Science (Living things and their habitats) We are hoping to get outside when the weather is kind to us to explore in our Science Garden and Den.
We will also be continuing to work extremely hard in Maths, tackling some tricky concepts such as fractions/decimals and percentages as well as ratio and algebra. Please see the Curriculum Overview attached for Spring term to see the topics in more detail.
As always, if you have any questions, please pop in to see me.
Many thanks,
Mrs Benton
Bird watching! March 2022
In Science, we have been looking at Living Things and their Habitats - today we went on a bird hunt around the Science Garden and also in the newly built hide!
We spotted lots of magpies but unfortunately not so many goldfinches!
Commonwealth Games Baton - March 2022
We loved taking part in the Lancashire Games Baton Relay today. We received the baton from Cop Lane before doing a lap of honour (or 5!) around the school playground before making the journey down to Mary Magdalen’s to hand it over!
Book Tasting - February 2022
Some new books have arrived in Year 6 so we spent the morning book tasting, getting stuck into a fantastic selection of fiction, non-fiction and poetry books!

Our First Weeks In Year 6
We have settled into Year 6 really well and are taking our responsibilities as being the oldest in the school really seriously. We have also been improving our ball skills in P.E.
