Read Write Inc. Phonics
Children in our Reception class enjoy taking part in a daily RWI phonics session each morning. During these focussed sessions, your child will develop skills that will help them to begin reading and writing.
Learning to read is the most important thing your child will learn at our school. Everything else depends on it, so we do all we can to make sure every child learns to read quickly. We want your child to love reading – and to want to read for themselves.
Below are some useful videos and documents covering the sounds your child will learn this year, how we teach blending to read, segmenting to spell and some example ‘Fred Talk’ games to play at home! Visit https://www.ruthmiskin.com/en/find-out-more/parents/ for more information and helpful videos.
